Star and Wynne use same points to attack Ford

It’s almost like the Toronto Star and the Ontario Liberal Party are working hand in hand towards the same goal, making sure Doug Ford doesn’t become Premier of Ontario.

Kathleen Wynne’s Liberals have been trying to connect Ford to Trump, trying to make them into the same person, now the Star is joining in. In fact, Rob Benzie’s column, now altered, initially was brazen in the Trump comparison. Here is how it first opened.

Lock her up!

That’s Doug Ford’s Trump-ian threat about Kathleen Wynne after he accused the Liberal premier of campaigning on the taxpayer’s dime.

Except Ford didn’t say lock her up and according to reports, neither did the crowd chant that. Instead Ford was talking about holding an outside audit of Wynne’s spending, this after the province’s auditor general used the term “bogus” to describe the Liberal accounting practices.

“If Kathleen Wynne tried to pull these kinds of shady tricks in private life, then there would be a few more Liberals joining David Livingston in jail,” Ford said.

Is Ford wrong on this? Not by my read, if the government was to tell a private sector firm that their accounting was, “irregular and improper” you would expect charges. Well that is how Bonnie Lysyk has described the provincial books.

The Star’s response to Ford telling the truth about their preferred candidate is to make the Trump link.

Of course this comes just after the Liberals were forced to apologize for making their own false Trump comparison. In a now deleted tweet, the Liberals claimed Doug Ford said he “loves the blacks” and then blasted him for not appearing at a black community leaders debate in Toronto.

Of course Ford never said that he “loves the blacks.” So the Liberals, when contacted by QP Briefing, an online news site focused on Queen’s Park, said they made a mistake. So they put out a new tweet claiming Donald Trump said he “loves the blacks” and then linked that statement to Ford skipping the debate.

Here’s the problem, no one can find Trump saying that and the story the Liberals link to has him saying something very different.

The Liberals, whose Twitter account appears to be run by a bunch of frat boys, has also tweeted out comparisons of Trump and Ford because they both have used a thumbs up. Pretty sure I could find a photo of Wynne doing the same or maybe put a photo of her waving next to a photo of a dictator waving, because both of them waving proves they are virtually the same.

Right?

If this is the level of campaigning from the Liberals, and their house organ, the Star, then Ford has nothing to fear from the once mighty Ontario Liberals.

Have you heard that I have a new show coming?

This has been in the works for a while, I’m adding a new project to my already busy schedule. So not leaving radio or giving up writing, but taking on something new.

It’s a fun concept that hasn’t been done before and I hope you like it. Give the video below a look see and sign up for the mailing list below so I can let you know when we are fully able to launch.

  • Re Ford is Trump.

All we need now is for Wynne to be goaded into a “deplorables” comment.

Even the CBC/Star/Glib and Frail won’t be able to save her once she does. And she will!

  • It is a good thing that we have Ford running against her because he is a “no-holds barred” person. Wynne might have walked over the top of the other candidates, but she will not with Ford.

  • It is not that the Toronto Star openly supports Kate Wynne, they openly support crappy governments at all levels.

  • I’ve read several good stuff here. Certainly worth bookmarking for revisiting. I surprise how much effort you put to make such a excellent informative site.
